TIMO TOLKKI Discusses STRATOVARIUS 'Publicity Stunt'; Video Available
November 13, 2008Former STRATOVARIUS and current REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE mainman Timo Tolkki has released the second part of his three-part interview via the RR web site.
During this lengthy interview which lasts almost an hour, Tolkki talks about the STRATOVARIUS period between 1996 and 2008. He discusses the difficulties of becoming a very succesful artist within a relatively short period of time, doing world tours, selling out 7,000-seat arenas etc. He also talks about the purported "publicity stunt" STRATOVARIUS concoted several years ago when singer Timo Kotipelto was fired and a female replacement, Miss K, was drafted in, as well as the stabbing that took place in Madrid, Spain. According to Timo, the whole publicity stunt was organized very meticulously and the entire band, management and even the record company was in on it.
Since the interview is very long, it has been separated into two parts:
REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE has launched its official web site at this location. Also included on the site are individual video interviews with the other RR bandmembers — keyboardist Mike Khalilov, drummer Bruno Agra (ex-AQUARIA),singer Gus Monsanto (ex-ADAGIO) and bassist Justin Biggs (DESCEND).
